Socks, Taken Seriously

The cheapest slot in a fit and the one that most often ruins it.

Socks are the only garment most men own exclusively by accident. They arrive in packs, they get replaced when they fail, and nobody chooses them. This is strange, because they are also the one thing in a fit that is visible when you sit down and cheap enough to get right on the first try.

The catalog treats socks as a real slot — the builder fills it deliberately, and a wrong sock drags an outfit down the same way a wrong shoe does. The range below runs from four dollars a pair to genuinely silly, and both ends are here on purpose.

How to choose

  • Ribbed and mid-calf is the default that never reads wrong. Ankle socks with trousers do.
  • Cotton for the office, wool for the cold, synthetic blends for anything you sweat in.
  • The luxury end is a logo purchase and that is fine — just know that is what you are buying.

The list

17 pieces, $1,255 if you bought all of it — which you should not. Every one links to its own page with the fit built around it.
